"The study of the structure of subjectivity" - Richard Bandler (Co-Founder of NLP)
NLP is as much a description of how we function as it is a name of a technology. If you think about it, how we feel and think and behave,
through the neurons in our brains and nervous systems, has been programmed. Some of it is natural instinct, but much of it has been learned. We learn from others
through language, all language, not just words, but behaviour and body language, also. We have been picking up messages, beliefs, commands and direction and
burning them into our neural pathways since the moment we were born. The good news is, these neural pathways can be redrawn!
NLP research has discovered how our unconscious learns, how it interprets the world around us and through it how we communicate with
ourselves and others. We can use this knowledge to communicate more efficiently with our own unconcsious also. Like Hypnosis, it is
another tool we can use to communicate directly with the unconscious where all real change occurs. It is a knowledge which we can use to communicate with
others at an unconscious level too. NLP gives us powerful techniques which we can use to make powerful, permanent, positive changes at the unconscious level
which can change our lives for the better. It can also help us to influence and understand others better too.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is quite a mouthful! NLP is the common abbreviation for this, which refers to one of the newest and most
powerful technologies in modern psychology. It is a study of the human mind and how it works. This study led to the discovery of thought and
communication processes which affect our feelings and behaviour. This has led to the discovery of patterns of behaviour.
Based on these discoveries, techniques were developed to alter how we
think, feel and act in order to
produce beneficial change.
