Weight Loss
Most people trying to lose weight know exactly what they need to do in order to shed those extra pounds, kilos or whatever.
They even know what to do to further tone up their body and look slim, fit and healthy.
I am presuming here that you do not have a medical condition, nor are you on medication making it impossible
to control your own weight. So, why haven't you been able to do it? What has happened? Why hasn't what you did do work?
The problem is either one of two things. Either your motivation is not strong enough to do what you need to do. Or, your weight problem is just one of the things in your life that you
feel is beyond your control and you are frustrated and giving up.

Anxiety
More people than you may think live their lives in a state of anxiety, tension and worry. This can seem to be mild anxiety,
it can also be chronic or severe. In some people it is brought on by particular thoughts, objects or events
or can develop into a
phobia.
Others have an ever present underlying feeling of fear or worry which clouds almost everything in their lives. Often the sufferer
doesn't know why they feel like this, or why they cannot simply just relax and be confident that everything is fine and going to remain so. This is a
classic anxiety problem which often also leaves the sufferer sensitive to other problems and prone to other fears and stresses.
Hypnosis an excellent tool for finding the root of these fears and anxieties and for dealing with them quickly and forever. Very often
they are based on long forgotten experiences which have forged deep rooted beliefs in the person. Beliefs which they are usually unaware

Panic Attacks
Panic Attacks are a very intense and distressing
experience for anybody who suffers them. However, as anybody who has
experienced them will probably know by now, they are a trick of the
mind. Essentially what is happening is that the feeling portion of
some disturbing past memory is being experienced out of context with
the past event and definitely out of context with the present.
Panic attacks can be triggered by many things,
but their occurence does not mean that there is anything
"wrong" with you. It just menas that some particular chain
of events has caused your mind to bring back part of a memory that
you would prefer not to remember, (probably for the very reason that
it was an intense and distressing event in the first place!)
Tricks of the mind are my business and it
is relatively easy to integrate this memory properly and completely
so that the mind is at peace again and the memory is resolved for
good. Depending on the individual and the circumstances of their
attacks, this can often be done very quickly. But always, immediate
relief and assistance in dealing with attacks is gained from the
first session.

Phobias
Pretty much everyone experiences things that give them
"the shivers", or that they really don't like. But some people
have Phobias. A phobia is an extreme, unpleasant feeling, fear or reaction,
which is totally and inexplicably out of proportion to the object or
event about which they are phobic. There are the classic phobias like
spiders and flying, enclosed spaces and open spaces, cats, dogs and
pretty much any animal under the sun. People are also afraid of such
diverse things as buttons, flashlights, darkness, naked people(!),
crowds, depths, light. In fact, you try and guess something and the
chances are that somebody, somewhere, has a phobia about it. There is
nothing strange about your particular fear. There are lists of phobias
and their technical names available on the internet.
Phobias can be merely an inconvenience, or can ruin
someone's life. It really depends on whether your object of fear is something
that you come across in your daily life or not. Obviously a fear of the
outdoors or open spaces can be extremely debilitating in any of its
forms. But you may get away with a fear of snakes most of the time, (especially if you live in Ireland!) If you have a phobia it is a very
real fear to you. But, the good news is that it can be treated and
sometimes in a matter of minutes! It doesn't matter for how long you've
had it, or how extreme or rare it is. Often a phobia can be cured in one
session using Hypnosis. (Some cases may require two or three sessions). The
results are instant and spectacular.
Below are the five main causes of this phenomenon.
Phobias can be produced as....
1. the product of severe stress.
2. the product of a series of experiences which have built up
into an excessive anxiety
3. the product of a fear of fear itself.
4. a fear transmitted to them by another person.
5. the result of a severe past trauma
Number five is the one most people think of when
they think of phobias and is probably the most common. Number four would
be common too, where fearless children learn to be afraid of certain
things, (thunder, for example), from an adult or another child who fears

Pain Control
Hypnosis has long been acknowledged as a means of controlling chronic pain. It can

It can be used once your doctor has agreed that it is safe to reduce the pain messages you are receiving.

Confidence, Self Esteem, Assertiveness, Shyness and Feelings of Inferiority
Many people feel that they lack confidence or suffer from a lack of self-esteem. Some
people have feelings of inferiority or inadequacy. These are very common feelings even among many of those who, on the
outside, seem confident, successful and self assured. Very often these feelings are based on some misunderstood
experience, or misinformation, in our past that we are still carrying around. Whatever the cause, they are usually fuelled by our

In our modern world of stress, pressure and speed, we seem to get less and less time to relax. When we do, very
often, we are so stressed and worked up that we cannot relax completely, or enough to give us the rest that we feel we need.
The essence of Hypnosis is relaxation. The first therapeutic effect it has on any problem is the ability to relax.

Stress Management
Stress is so common nowadays in everyday life that everyone understands the word immediately. We live in a very modern,
fast paced and fast changing world. People are under more and more social, financial, emotional,
family and work pressure than ever before. Stress
and its effects can range from mild to debilitating.
Apart from the obvious discomfort of stress and the things it can make us do, how it can ruin our personal life and affect
our relationships, be under no illusion but that it also affects our physical health. Stress is now proven to be a significant contributer to
many serious and often fatal organic diseases such as High Blood Pressure, Asthma, Heart Disease and Cancer and it is a barrier to recovery
from many others. Stress is known to shorten our lives.
White blood cells, the soldiers of our immune system, which fight germs, have been observed
in laboratories to disintegrate in a person under stress! This, literally, leaves our defences down. So, untreated, stress can spiral downwards
from an unpleasant experience, to an emotional problem, to physical illness.

Anger Management
Anger Management is a phrase and term familiar to people and
even used sometimes in a humourous way. However, some people have a very serious and
distressing problem controlling their anger. Unfortunately, this problem
also has dreadful and sometimes tragic consequences for those in
contact with the person who has anger problems. It is usually those closest to the person with the problem who suffer the most. Sadly, increasing
and frightening domestic violence figures are testament to this.
Anyone aware of current affairs will know that this problem is not confined to any social class or geographic area. Nor is it confined to
either sex. Many women, as well as men, have problems with their tempers and behaviour. Anger Problems, thankfully,do not always result in violence, but they can
still have a devastating effect on families and friendships and can also destroy careers.
If you, or someone you know, has a problem with their temper, an inner rage or anger, there is no need to accept it or let it destroy your
life. Anger issues can be very successfully treated using

It is accepted that most of these conditions,
from the most trivial to the life threatening, are generally based
in emotional or psychological problems. Many people eat when they
feel down or bad, or are upset in some way. Some people have a
damaged or distorted self-image which they try to control, or
change, by controlling what and how they eat.
If you have an eating problem you will have
recognised it and possibly feel powerless in the face of it, causing
you further pain. It will be very personal to you. All therapy
is done in the strictest confidence and understanding.
Use hypnotherapy to break bad eating
habits, to cultivate healthy eating habits and to help inderlying
psychological or emotional causes of eating disorders. It is a very
rapid and thorough therapy causing change at the level at which
feelings and compulsions are produced, thus making the changes
easier, permanent and natural.
Guilt and Shame
Many, many emotional and behavioural problems and
even illnesses have their root causes in feelings of guilt and/or
shame. Often people are not aware that their behaviour is rooted in
hidden feelings of guilt and shame.
Sometimes things have happened to us, or we have

with. These are left incomplete and like unhealed wounds in our

Obsessions and Compulsions
Do you ever find yourself performing certain activities over and over for no particular reason,
or even in a way that you find annoying or distressing to yourself? Do you ever find yourself having obsessive thoughts about something,
or somebody in particular?
A lot of us are set in our ways, are methodical, or like to be
neat. That is fine, but there are some people who
get very upset and distressed if their routine, or rituals or habits are broken. Some people appear to be repeatedly checking things or
arranging things obsessively in a particular way. We can detect if somebody has a problem with compulsions and obsessions when they themselves
are distressed by the activity, or are more distressed if they cannot carry it out.
Examples of this would be people obsessively checking electrical switches or locks, or excessively cleaning or washing.
Others might be people compelled to touch things, carry out superstitions, or perform behaviours which can even be destructive or unpleasant.
Hypnotherapy is an excellent means of treating obsessions and compulsions. These behaviours are often distressing to the
person and in extreme cases can make them very difficult to live with. They can even lead them to anti-social or illegal behaviour. These behaviours are
usually driven by some deep inner feeling or conflict which can be treated and resolved at this deep level using hypnosis.

Asthma, Hay Fever and Allergies.
Asthma is generally observed as an allergic reaction to something, or the product of tension and stress, resulting in a spasmodic reaction in the
tiny muscles controlling the smallest airways in our lungs. Hay
Fever is our body's protective reaction to something, usually certain
plant pollens. Many people also suffer reactive symptoms, or allergies, when exposed to many and various
other external elements. Many people's symptoms are caused
or exacerbated by underlying
emotional or psychological problems which can also be discovered and resolved using Hypnotherapy.
Most allergic reactions are a disproportionate protective response from our body to relatively harmless things. Very often they are the
result of an incident or situation where we, or our subconscious defenses, misjudged the threat in the past and thus "learned" to
overreact to it in the same way in the future.
Sometimes we become suceptible to severe responses due to stress which has heightened our sensitivity to unexpected changes.
Asthma and Hay Fever sufferers can benefit greatly from Hypnotherapy. Adults and children can learn to control the attacks and gradually
reduce them in frequency and intensity. Our subconscious, which controls our reactions to percieved threat, can be re-educated to deal appropriately

Hypnotherapy
This list is by no means an exhaustive list of the problems and conditions that can be helped by Hypnotherapy.
Our unconsious mind can harbour ideas and thoughts and beliefs which are
detrimental to us. These can lead to all kinds of problems, habits, obsessions, physical symptoms, emotional, relationship and nervous
problems and this problem too.
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to naturally relax the conscious mind in order to communicate with the unconscious mind and to correct
some of the misconceptions it has created, which are causing problems. While deeply relaxed, a person can address problem areas of their lives without
becoming distressed. They are more open to the reality of the situation and willing to consider that there are alternatives to their current problematic
behaviour. Sometimes they can discover and safely release the emotion or event which caused their problem in the first place.
This is where Hypnotheapy can be split into two main types, Hypnotic Suggestion Therapy and Hypno-Analytical Therapy.
Suggestion Therapy is the use of Hypnosis to make the client more receptive to positive suggestions regarding their problem and
more open to alternatives
to it and suggested alternative reactions and bahaviours. These are what are commonly known as Post Hypnotic Suggestions. That means the person takes these
new ideas and alternatives away with them after Hypnosis. This is a very quick method of removing fears and changing bad habits. It can help alleviate or
remove almost any symptom, emotional or physical. Typically,
successful suggestion therapy can be completed in between one and three sessions.
NOTE: N.L.P. offers many suggestion therapy techniques which do not necessarily require Hypnosis.
Hypno-Analytical Therapy is a more in-depth procedure. It basically does the job that traditional psycho-analysis does, but in a fraction
of the time. Typically, a deep seated problem can be successfully treated in
five to ten sessions. This is recommended where a person is suffering anxiety, or
where anxiety is the root cause of their symptoms. It is a cathartic process which is sometimes required to completely eradicate a problem, fear or habit
where a repressed emotional past experience is the cause
